I am a proud graduate from the University of Virginia! I received both my BA in Chemistry and Masters of Teaching in Secondary Science Education from UVa. Upon graduation, I was hired to teach chemistry for Chesterfield County in Virginia at L.C. Bird High School. I taught Honors Chemistry, AP Chemistry, Chemistry and Chemistry in the Community for 5 years at LC Bird until I transferred to Midlothian High School, my alma mater. After a year a Midlothian High School, I left the classroom to stay home with my children from 2001-2010. While I was home caring for my family, I ran my own business tutoring students in all areas of math, chemistry, physics and SAT preparation. In addition, I taught home school courses in both chemistry and physics. I re-entered the public school classroom in August of 2010 when my youngest child entered Kindergarten and we moved to Lexington, Virginia. For the past four years, I have been teaching AP Chemistry, Chemistry II and Chemistry for Rockbridge County High School. My husband was recently transferred to the Wake Forest area, which lead our family to move to the Raleigh area. I have been married to my wonderful husband, Lawrence, since 1997 and we have three beautiful children; Elizabeth, Kaylee and Emmitt. Elizabeth will be entering the 9th grade this year, Kaylee will be in 7th and Emmitt will be in 5th.
